It is a great pleasure to now serve as Academic Chair of this program and School, as I have long admired it from afar. I first examined the Chifley MBA and suite of programs nearly 20 years ago when I was the academic member of the Australian Government’s ‘Karpin’ Task Force, investigating Leadership and Management in Australia. I concluded then, as I believe now, that this program is world class, and it is clearly the best distance education program I have seen anywhere. The materials, both printed and on the website, are kept up to date and are strongly supported by Unit Chairs who bring the right blend of concepts and practicality to students’ learning experience. It also brings graduates into a network of professionals who work in all industries and are employed in all types of managerial and leadership roles on a global basis. More recently, in my role as professor at the University of Melbourne, I was asked by a major company to create and deliver a blended program, comprising some classroom teaching and some distance education mode, and we immediately partnered with the Chifley Business School as our first choice, because of its quality and highest of professional standards!   

When I gave the graduating speech at a recent MBA graduation ceremony, I was struck by the high level of enthusiasm, satisfaction and appreciation of Chifley graduates for what they had learned and applied, to benefit their employers and themselves. For working professionals, The Chifley MBA offers a viable and valuable alternative to full time or part time MBA classroom attendance. It is rich in quality and professionally led, proving all the knowledge and practical wisdom needed to take a managerial career to new heights.
